Aftercare

After your pet has passed there are a number of options to consider. These can be overwhelming to contemplate at the time so we encourage you to think about them before the appointment. We understand that your pet’s aftercare is an important and deeply personal choice. Whichever option you decide, we will support you every step of the way. If you would like to discuss anything then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Burial

Burying a pet can offer closure and provides you with a site to visit and remember your pet. It is also very environmentally friendly and does not incur cremation fees, however, there are a number of things to consider before deciding to bury your pet. You need to have a large enough patch of land that belongs to you. Consider the likelihood of moving house. Lastly grave digging is hard, physical work. It is important to dig a plot that is deep enough to avoid your pet’s body being disturbed by wildlife or harsh weather.

Cremation

We can arrange your pet’s cremation to align with your wishes. When you entrust us with your pet’s aftercare, you can have peace of mind knowing they will be treated with the utmost dignity and respect. We partner with Lincolnshire Pet Crematorium, who provide an exceptionally compassionate service that we have personally witnessed.

General Cremation

No Ashes Returned

The passing of your pet is a deeply emotional journey, and it’s natural to want something to remember your companion by. Many people feel drawn to having their pet’s ashes returned, and for some, this is the right choice, but it’s important to recognise that it’s not the only option. While having ashes may provide comfort, it doesn’t change the cherished memories you already hold. General cremation can be a more affordable and environmentally friendly alternative that deserves careful consideration. Our chosen pet crematorium treats every pet with dignity, regardless of the option you select, with ashes from general cremations being respectfully scattered on their grounds.

Individual Cremation

Your Pet's Own Ashes Returned

If you would like your pet’s ashes returned, our chosen crematorium takes great care to ensure that the ashes you receive are exclusively those of your pet. We have personally observed their processes and are proud to partner with them. There is an extensive selection of caskets, urns and memorials to pick from, so that you can honour your pet's memory the way you'd like to.

We personally deliver your pet’s ashes back to your home, typically within two weeks of the euthanasia appointment.

Private Arrangements

If you would prefer your pet's ashes to be returned more quickly, there is always the option to personally transport your pet to the crematorium. Here you will have the opportunity to say goodbye in their peaceful farewell room and wait whilst your pet is cremated and returned to you. We can personally recommend Lincolnshire Pet Crematorium or Lakeview Pet Crematorium for this service.
